Yoga Retreat & Teacher Training - 2011– FAQ

Question: I truly love the idea of practicing yoga twice per day, Will I be able to practice that much?
Answer: I have found through myself, and many students, once we get away from our normal day to day activities and devote time to our practice of yoga. Our energy is so focused and alive, we end up looking for more!

Question: Do I have a roomate?
Answer: Roomates are assigned unless you have a specific request. Rates are based on double or triple occupancy. Private rooms are available for an additional price.

Question: Do only teachers attend the teacher training?
Answer: No. If you are already a teacher or dedicated student, this will open your understanding to yoga and deepen your practice of teaching. If you are seeking to become a teacher this will give you the tools and the confidence to become a yoga teacher.

Question: Will this training make me a yoga teacher?
Answer: There is no training program or curriculum which makes a yoga teacher. You need an innate passion to teach and one of your passions being yoga. You may find that through this training that your yoga will be refined and strengthened. You will be taught the tools for teaching yoga. By sharing this experience with others, formally or informally, you will become a teacher of yoga.

Question: Will this training give me credit toward Yoga Alliance’s program or other certification programs?
Answer: You will need to follow up with your specific certification group or organization if training from this program gives you credit towards their specific organization.

Question: Is the yoga retreat the same as teacher training?
Answer: Our twice-daily yoga classes will be together as a group. Those registered for teacher training will have additional programs in the late mornings, afternoons and evenings that are not part of the yoga retreat. The registered for the yoga retreat will have much more leisure time.

Question: Do I need a passport to enter Mexico or just a Driver’s License?
Answer: We strongly advise when leaving the country to have a valid passport with the expiration date not be on or near your date of departure or arrival.

Question: I have heard there are bugs in Mexico?
Answer: Our retreat facility is in a natural unspoiled setting. Elements of nature will be around us unaffected from human intervention.

Question: Is Mexico safe to travel to?
Answer: I myself, and countless others, travel to, live and commute to Mexico annually without any safety concerns.

Question: Do I need to speak Spanish to travel to Mexico?
Answer: Members of our staff are Bi-Lingual as are most of the people in Tulum.
