YogaAbove is moving to a donation based system for all classes at our Princeton studio beginning June 28, 2009.

This will be done for several reasons, but most importantly, Yoga is not a business and should not be treated as one. When it is, the intention and spirit is lost. Yoga is about being connected to something larger than ourselves that we are all part of. It is about community, hugging instead of shaking hands, cooking not just eating. It is about eradicating the things that separate us all, yet respecting the differences between us. It is all so much more than the physical practice, yet the physical practice connects it all together. To YogaAbove, this is yoga. We would like to bring the real yoga to our area by working with your experiences, emotions, thoughts, and you.

In a time when yoga is very popular, yoga seems to have a dollar figure associated with it. YogaAbove would like to offer yoga to everyone regardless of their economic limitations. Yoga is meant to release and open the mind, not the wallet!

Beginning June 28, 2009 ALL* classes will be offered on a donation basis. Unlimited passes will no longer be available for purchase. Any unlimited pass purchased prior to June 28, 2009 will be honored until expiration (30 days from purchase). Beginning August 1, 2009 - 5 & 10 class passes will no longer be available for purchase. Any 5 or 10 class pass purchased prior to August 1, 2009 will be honored until expiration (90 days from purchase). Drop-In punch cards will no longer be accepted June 28, 2009 forward.

A donation is the act of giving and the suggested donation for class will be $12. Suggested donation means that if you can put $12 in the donation box, please do so. If you are not in a position to do so, contribute what you can. Nobody will be keeping track of individual donations. The $12 donation is not meant as a bottom or a top limit. If you are in a position to donate more, it will be greatly appreciated.

This decision does not mean YogaAbove is going anywhere. YogaAbove will continue to be your yoga center and more powerful than ever. Please join us and support us as we make our transition out of the yoga business and into yoga.
